Nov. 29 - Random Updates

Okay, I've been horrible about keeping this blog updated. But to capture some random bits of news ...

Elliot will turn one in two days! I can't believe it's been a year. That might warrant a blog post on its own, but we'll see if I can get my act together. If nothing else, I suppose I should at least post pictures of his first taste of cake once I get those off my camera.

Right now, Elliot has three bottom teeth with a fourth one on its way and two teeth on top that are fully in, two that are halfway in and two more that are just starting to break through his gums. He's been a bit grumpy with all those pearly whites filling in. And he likes to grind his teeth sometimes!

Elliot is starting to really pick up on signing. He signs "more," "sleep" and "all done." He also signs "down" but he'll say it as well. He says "Mommommommom" and "Daddaddaddadddad" and tries to say "Jonathan" too. Beyond that, he babbles an awful lot and I suspect his vocabulary is going to explode once he figures it out a bit more.

Elliot is usually pretty entertained by Jonathan, and started walking around 10.5 months. (I think he was motivated to keep up with his big brother.) He was pretty stable on his feet right off the bat and by November 6th could stand up on his own (no toys, furniture or adult legs to cling to) and even squat and stand again.

In September Jonathan started preschool Friday mornings and he gets to ride the bus for that. I thought he'd be thrilled, but he's not terribly excited about it. He also started gymnastics Saturday mornings and he absolutely loves that! You'd think he'd be tuckered out after the workout he gets, but sometimes he manages to skip a nap those days. The video below is from one such evening.

And here are some pictures ...
